At STRUT, we focus on scalable research-based solutions that prepare students for academic, emotional, and behavioral success through Social Emotional Learning (SEL), the process of developing emotional intelligence. Our platform adapts to students on an emotional level, provides engagement strategies to overcome technology’s negative side effects, and integrates with core curricula. We deliver direct value to students, teachers, and parents through a simple, easy-to-use digital SEL diagnostic assessment and classroom-learning app
STRUT’s digital assessment, SELDA, is our MVP. It assesses students’ SEL baseline and measures growth and learning. It’s based on learning science, popular SEL curricula and diagnostic tools, and the Collaborative for Academic Social Emotional Learning’s 5 competencies. STRUT includes a 6th competency, motivation, due to its significance and impact on learning, technology, and youth. SELDA assesses a student’s composite emotional intelligence (EQ) level, while highlighting their areas of strength and improvement and simultaneously factors in school and home environment.
The classroom app, eMojo, is an adaptive learning system that allows students to immediately develop Social and Emotional Intelligence skills using a technology interface. eMojo will be launched in a cost effective manner without relying solely on the educator to be an expert in teaching EQ. Our app will adopt three frameworks, which can be used in a classroom of diverse learners.
