reThought Insurance provides flood policies through brokers or direct to end-customers with insurance backing provided by a large insurance or insurance capital entity (e.g., there are hedge funds and reinsurers in this space). Customers will include large commercial properties and high-end residential properties.
Flood insurance is a large, growing market ($6BB in 2016, likely growing to $30+BB in the next few years), and is very hard to underwrite.
We have a unique approach and technology advantage, and will deliver the best and most timely flood underwriting capability in the industry.
We will rely on distribution via partners, including large brokers and other carriers. Therefore, we can scale the business rapidly.
Our insurance backing is lined up, and we are starting to underwrite policies now.
