Collisions on UK roads cost the public more than £34 billion a year according to the DfT. It is RedOptima’s mission to reduce this cost along with the physical and emotional suffering that serious road collisions entail. RedOptima has a laser focus on delivering the best possible account around collision risk. The Challenges: The existing approaches across public and private sectors suffer from subjectivity and inconsistencies from data collection through to remediation leading to sub-optimal and expensive solutions. The nature of the field is also reactive - which sadly means that people must die or get seriously injured in order for organisations to know where to prioritise. The Solution: RedOptima's solution is entirely objective and data-driven. RedOptima consumes and analyses data through universally consistent remotely sensed sources which are entirely objective. By consuming millions of recorded collisions over the past decade, our ML models identify the unique interaction effects of more than 50 physical antecedents to collisions involving injury or death. RedOptima’s model are therefore able to predict high risk sites that exhibit the physical features of previous collisions over a range of conditions. The Startup: RedOptima is a spin-off of a Scale-up - BlueOptima.
