In Nigeria – and Africa, there is the trend of poor or non-existent financial discipline among youth (demographic 18 – 40). And those who do, leave money in their bank accounts where they might end up taking it out before they really need it; or they resort to saving in wooden boxes,
The average Nigerian youth earns between 75,000 to 100,000 a month and, if guided right, can commit to saving at least 10% of that every month.
The idea of combining traditional savings methods with is what birthed Piggybank.ng. Piggybank.ng is a simple, convenient platform that automatically debits a customer’s account, daily, weekly or monthly till they reach their set target. We are specifically targeting young professionals but we will expand to cover all working class people in Nigeria and across Africa.
Piggybank.ng launched in April 2016 and has since then helped users save over 28 million naira, without any advertisement yet.
Our long term goal is to be the digital bank for the next generation.
