Pearl Certification was founded by two past nonprofit executives in the residential energy efficiency space. Seeing an unaddressed need in the market, Pearl’s founders developed a certification system and documentation to help homeowners make smart decisions about home improvements and to capture the right information on those improvements so that the homeowner could also recoup the value of those improvements at a future refinance or resale.

Pearl's proprietary certification system and software platform capture investment grade data on homes’ high-performing features to increase home value—by 5% on average.

Pearl makes value "visible" in the real estate transaction and drives sales of home upgrades with our third-party certification, Home Investment Plan, appraisal addendum, and MLS reports. Pearl’s app collects high-quality data on energy efficiency, smart home technology, indoor air quality, renewables, and other home features. The app assigns points, a score, and a certification tier to certify a home.
