NovaScan LLC is a Phase IIb NSF SBIR project entitled: ‘Property Detection of Residual Cancer in the Surgery Suite’.
Our technology allows highly accurate discovery of cancerous breast tissue using a proprietary electrical measurement. For example, we have incorporated this technology into both an electrical mammogram device as well as a hand-held probe that can be used during surgery to improve the removal of diseased tissue. NovaScan currently has ISO ‘approved for human use’ status after several IRB studies for the surgical probe and we are now engaged in a Feasibility Study for use of the surgical probe in the operating room
