While the fashion industry has the potential to serve as a vehicle lifting 250 million people out of poverty, the lack of integrity and transparency available to consumers has led to a broken industry in which millions are held in poverty and thousands die yearly in manufacturing facilities. Simultaneously, statistics prove 80% of consumers would consume consciously if they did not have to sacrifice style, quality, price, or comfort to do so. Nisolo exists to address this disparity. Beginning with high-quality, handmade footwear accessories, we create and sell well designed, ethically sourced products that positively impact consumers and producers. Nisolo’s fierce commitment to impact AND superior products/brand image sets us apart. In less than 3 years, we’ve created jobs for 35 people in Peru and have increased income levels by 300-900%, leading to benefits like transformed living conditions, improved access to healthcare and savings, and inaugural access to education (including university) for over 150 individuals. Yet, consumers fall in love with our brand before they know this information. From the thickness of each piece of leather to consistency across our digital platforms, the innumerable hours put into “design” will enable us to succeed and positively influence the fashion industry from the inside out.
