Music has been scientifically proven to be a highly effective, nonpharmacological means to reduce stress and loneliness and to mitigate the negative health impacts they bring about. But music therapy is unavailable to most seniors because, by definition, music therapy is performed one-on-one, in person; and there is only 1 music therapist for every 10,000 seniors in the U.S. So, our mission is to democratize music therapy by making it available to the vast majority of seniors who are aging in place, including those who are cognitively healthy but tech-phobic, because they live on the 'wrong' side of the digital divide. We want seniors to be able to listen to the music and other audible media they have enjoyed throughout their lives, without the complexity, cost, frustration and physical challenges now associated with accessing streaming music technology.
