The biggest issue facing life science today is the immense career bottleneck that is forming in academia. The majority of extremely talented scientists are pursuing professorships that no longer exist. miLab was founded to develop alternative career opportunities by focusing on the early-stage scientist. We are looking to build a pipeline of life science entrepreneurs who will be free to pursue their own innovative ideas. This is not an option in the current training system. Through our company, students in their undergraduate and graduate studies will be given the proper resources and support to develop their ideas into a viable product. It is our hope that through this, we will be preparing these students for a career of launching innovative companies that will create jobs to ease the growing bottleneck.
