The Makani Science Honu Respiratory Volume Monitor (RVM) is a breathing monitor that is able to measure a patient's respiratory rate, relative tidal volume, and relative minute ventilation. The device is indented to be used by healthcare professionals to help monitor breathing during procedures. Our device can detect respiratory depression in real time and our aim is to allow clinicians to respond to complications much more effectively. Current technology is insufficient and major injuries to patients have occurred due to poor monitoring.
