Lumoptik Inc. is developing medical and other devices that use fiber optics to objectively guide and identify correct targeted placement of needles and catheters during medical procedures, thereby reducing the likelihood of injury, side effects and potential liability or death. The company has the exclusive rights to patent-pending Light Assisted Breach Assessment (LABA) technology that measures the difference in reflected light at zero and near-zero distances when a needle enters its target. All of our disposable devices are usable with standard needles and syringes, and consist of light sensors and readers that alert clinicians with LED light change, acoustic and/or vibration signals.Our initial devices include Eye Access System for drug and stem cells delivery to the retina and Vascular Access Systems providing precise access to the venous and arterial vessels. Number of other applications are in our pipeline.
