Linkup Point careers

It’s hard to find the right sports partners and mentors. Good sports partners should have the right skills, knowledge, fitness, experience, certifications, and availability among so many other factors. This is especially true for technical mountain sports like rock and ice climbing, mountaineering, backcountry skiing/snowboarding, and whitewater kayaking, but it’s still a huge need in so many other sports like hiking, mountain biking, running – all the mountain sports and recreational activities, and then on to the other sports like tennis and martial arts.

I’m Brandon Briscoe, an avid climber, skier, and martial artist, and I founded Linkup Point here in Colorado Springs, CO to solve this problem. It was my problem, and the problem of so many people I know, and now I’m dedicated to solving it. We have a web platform with a growing user community, and are close to releasing the connected mobile app.

Ultimately, the mission of Linkup Point is to increase participation and lower barriers to entry in sports and recreation, and consequently to promote better health and quality of life, for all people in all places. Linkup Point also promotes recreational access and the stewardship of recreational and wild places, in order to enhance and sustain those places for current and future generations. We are becoming a public benefit corporation so as to codify our commitments to sports and rec communities and the environment.

Other tech solutions to the problem of finding partners and mentors are either so generic that they don’t cater to the problem – such as Facebook, or they are so niche that they only work for one sport – such as Mountain Project. This causes the multi-sport athlete to have a phone full of non-connected apps and networks, many of which don’t actually solve the problem. Linkup Point aims to be broad in the sense of catering to 80+ sports, but specific in terms of catering to each sport through sport specific profile fields, groups, and forums.
