America’s aging population will put more of a burden on the nation’s healthcare system in the future. Given that U.S. healthcare struggles in comparison to other developed countries ability to deliver high-quality care at an affordable cost, the challenges for long-term care providers are growing every day. Fortunately, four Brown University undergraduates anticipate the difficulties plaguing long-term care today with big data. Samuel Prado, Robbie Felton, Evan Jackson, and Alex Rothberg built Intus Care, a healthcare startup dedicated to helping long-term care facilities proactively get their highest-risk patients care earlier using their data-driven predictive analytics platform. The Providence, Rhode Island-based startup has raised $1.65M in a seed round from EO Ventures and Third Culture Capital as co-leading investors, with participation from Nancy Zimmerman, Waterman Ventures, Brian McCarthy and Rough Draft Ventures.
