Hylo is a new kind of social network that helps people connect, collaborate, and create things together in their communities of purpose: places like co-working space, start-up accelerators, and affinity groups. With Hylo, you can post "Intentions" about what you'd like to do or create, "Requests" of what you need, or "Offers" of what you'd like to share. Your friends, and the communities that you are part of, can see what you post, and help you connect to the resources you need. We are interested in helping to show people the abundant skills, resources, and opportunities available within their communities that might otherwise go un-noticed, so that they can be transacted, utilized, and created with. We believe that when we all work together, we can create anything we can imagine. We see a world where we can all thrive by supporting each other. We work out of Impact Hub Oakland, a co-working space near 19th St. Bart Station in Oakland, and believe that the barrier between personal and professional is blurred when we take an orientation in our life toward intention, purpose, and impact. We aim to serve by improving the lives of the people and communities that use our product. We believe in democratization of economic opportunity, the collaborative web, the the coming of the peer-to-peer economy.
