We designed Spring, our novel rolling walker, by understanding how people live, move and enjoy the world. Rather than taking our cues from an outdated industry, we started from scratch. The result of our 3-year design process is an entirely new product, Spring, that combines superior functionality and elegant design. The user stands taller, and can come right up to the table or desk. The device folds easily to a compact size. That is just for starters. In our monthly newsletter we show a product feature, and in 15 issues we have never repeated. Our method of distribution is as innovative as our product. Most walkers are distributed in a rehab or hospital setting after a fall or other injury. We are bringing our product directly to consumers through online sales. Our goal is to get people to purchase and use our walkers before the accident, and perhaps avoid it altogether. We also want to prevent the decline in activity and well-being that comes when people have mobility problems. We are a for-profit, mission-driven company. We are a small, dynamic group of one full-time and two part-time employees, supported by the founding partners, occasional interns, manufacturing and logistics consultants, designers and other consultants. The environment is collegial and we prize flexibility and creative solutions.
