America has an incarceration problem - a $72B, 12 million people a year prison and jail problem. Yes, people commit stupid acts and sometimes do terrible things, but often times they are good people, with little opportunity, resources, or direction. The system takes that young kid and locks him up watching Jerry Springer all day (there’s little to no budget for rehabilitation - daytime TV is really what’s happening). Months or years later, it spits him out with a bus pass and says “don’t come back.” With a record, strained relationships, no education or skills development to show, and a big blank spot on his resume, it’s hard to find legitimate work and it becomes tough to stay out. Not surprisingly, most don’t and a cycle of recidivism begins. Edovo’s changing all that. We’re not just angry, we’re tactical.
