Ecovia is India's first returnable packaging service. We are working to enable online businesses to create "peak moments" for their customers and at the same time helping them to act sustainably by moving away from singe user packaging. Complexity 1. Market forces The E-commerce space has been dominated with single use packaging be it cardboard boxes or plastic bags. Which has been a trend ever since the inception of E-commerce. Thus making returnable packaging solution as a market creation problem Packaging is seen as a cost centre by brands and thus is not given adequate attention. 2. Cost efficient reverse logistics at Ecovia needs to collect bags from across the country. We need to batch reverse pickups in order to reduce cost per pickup 3. Technical complexity 3.1 Getting data from partner brands and processing the same for being able to orchestrate reverse pickups is a challenging problem at scale. 3.2 Scheduling and batching algorithm to perform pickups in a cost efficient manner
