Cumulonimbus careers
PressureNet is a weather forecasting platform built on new sensor networks. We crowdsource very large and valuable datasets by using new atmosphere sensors in smartphones. The new datasets enable us to build high-resolution models of the atmosphere which will produce significantly higher accuracy weather forecasts than anything currently on the market. We currently connect 400,000 smartphones and are growing to 4M.
Our customers are businesses whose financials are heavily affected by the weather. Example industries are agriculture, shipping, insurance, and renewable energy. We will enable these companies to better hedge against unexpected weather by providing a more reliable forecast.
Our go-to-market strategy is to focus on short-term (0-6hour) weather forecasts first in order to demonstrate technology. Our customers will mostly be interested in longer-term weather forecasts (2+ weeks), as this is the most important timeframe for business decisions - and also the least certain.
