Texting is a fundamentally bad way to get to know someone. You can't hear their voice, see their expressions, or know for sure that the person you're messaging with is the same babe you swiped right on. 57% of women report experiencing harassing behavior on dating apps (and the number is higher for non-binary people.) Trust is absent and interactions feel transactional and dehumanizing.
Our mission is to create a safe space to meet new people where respect and authenticity are the norm.
On Vibes, you get a real sense of the person you matched with. Users select conversation starter questions in place of a written bio and conversations happen through short, timed pixelated video messages instead of text. You get to hear their voice, see their expressions and get a real feel for their vibe. Messages are pixelated to start because video can be daunting, but after you and your match have each sent a message, you're in control and can turn your own pixelation on or off at any time.
