I was in my 3rd year of Engineering college when Covid-19 struck, leaving everyone trying to find new ways to keep themselves motivated and productive and not get sucked into the overwhelming vortex of virus panic. I, too, was running around like a headless chicken trying to figure out my career path. Then, I came across Canvs. I immediately applied for the content writer intern position, which later became a full-time role. I went on to work with Canvs for over 1.5 years as a Content Writer, and I can confidently say it’s a great company to work for. I started off knowing very little about the design industry. As a content writer for a product design company, I had to write and portray my work to the world as an experienced professional who knows their way around design. It wasn’t easy. At first. With the guidance of Canvs members, I found a gateway to all the knowledge and proper resources to educate myself and get started. I learnt the ropes of editorial writing and better understood how intensive research and various design concepts come together to form a solid piece. I gradually built on these learnings and further improved my skills. After months of research, trial and error, and several blogs later, my articles started going viral and gained a lot of traction from readers worldwide. My work got published by a few of the most significant publications on Medium and featured in some popular newsletters. In addition, we started seeing a massive influx of followers and readers on our Editorial page on Medium. This motivated me to work harder and polish my work. I wrote almost 60 pieces for our Medium blog, learning a new design concept each time. I worked closely with Aalhad and Abin, who helped me out with writing out stronger pieces each day, and guided me with the visual aspects of it. And of course Debprotim, overseeing and parting wisdom to the team :) I shall never forget the kindness of all of my colleagues (and their memes on our Slack channel)
