Caia produces a handheld tool that mimics the feel of a cancerous tumor in breast tissue. This tool makes breast self exams (BSEs) more effective by demonstrating exactly what to look for. Early detection of breast cancer is the most effective way to reduce mortality rates, and BSEs are the cheapest and most effective way to increase early detection.

Caia has the potential to dramatically increase early detection rates (directly translating to lives saved), as well as the potential to transform the lives of its users by empowering them with information, support, and community. Despite technological advances in breast cancer treatment and diagnostic equipment, breast cancer mortality rates have not changed in 50 years. It's been proven that early detection is the most effective way to increase survival rates, and if we want to see a change in early detection, we have to make a change to the outdated curriculum available. That's where Caia (and hopefully you!) come in.
