Blip is women owned and believes diverse decision makers drive better outcomes. By creating a viable product for responsible re-use of high quality cells, Blip helps bolsters the market for Lithium Circularity, and makes the most of the raw materials we’ve already mined and manufactured. Promoting a domestic supply chain for energy storage desperately lacking to date, and creating more opportunities for instilling responsible supply chain practices. Blip is driven by providing equitable and affordable access to green technology. Data show that underserved populations generally suffer disproportionately from power outages, high energy prices, and polluting energy generation facilities. Blip is leveraging community partnerships to bridge the “electrical divide”. While low-income families stand to benefit the most from distributed energy resources, they also face the greatest barriers in accessing them. Affluent households can afford luxury energy systems (solar+storage, smart breakers). Blip brings the features of those energy systems to LMI households. Blip's founders are driven to provide immediate impact in energy equity. Sophia is a Forbes “30 under 30 Energy” honoree with a hands-on background in hardware with experience as a Mechanical Engineer and Product Manager (iRobot, Tesla, Exelon). Sophia understands the realities of bringing a hardware product to market along with critical engineering experience. Chance is a 15 year strategy and operations leader – utility industry veteran with a regulatory and energy policy background (GE, ScottMadden). Chance has approached energy innovation from the regulatory, corporate, and utility perspectives and brings a deep awareness of the environment this hardware solution will operate in. Chance and Sophia have complementary experience to navigate distributed energy storage and grid flexibility, and passionately believe Blip's grassroots approach to the energy transition presents the necessary immediate impact.
