Appsi offers p2p insurance for small items (bikes, mobile phones, PCs) by pooling together premiums of 100 policy holders. The money is invested into safe assets and the policy holders share in the investment upside. When a claim arises, the policy holder submits claim information to the pool. The pool is run by 5-10 policy holders who vote on claims. At the end of the contract whatever is leftover is returned to the policy holders, here is how the policy holder saves money.
