Noblr is a new kind of car insurance that leverages telematics data and actuarial insight to give drivers real-time rates based on their actual driving. As the first paralegal on our legal team you will have the opportunity to be an integral part of a fast-growing, fun, dynamic team focused on empowering solutions.
About the Role
We’re looking for a talented paralegal with experience in property & casualty insurance to join our growing legal team. The ideal candidate is someone who can thrive in a dynamic environment, has compliance and insurance experience, and takes pride and ownership in the management and completion of their projects.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal support for attorneys and other internal stakeholders
- Assist with the preparation of state filings and other regulatory submissions, including organization and preparation of supporting documents, exhibits, correspondence, affidavits, and declarations
- Meticulously maintain records for regulatory filings and licensing requirements, including associated deadlines
- Support the development of internal processes to manage regulatory requirements and to ensure compliance with insurance regulations and licensing procedures
- Collaborate on team initiatives and other special projects
- Provide general administrative support to the legal team, while interacting cross-functionally with other groups and outside counsel
Qualifications
- A minimum of 4+ years as a paralegal in a law firm or in-house environment
- B.S. or B.A. from an accredited university
- Prior experience in property & casualty insurance with regulatory compliance and/or a legislative, policy, or insurance background
- Excellent business judgment, communication and interpersonal skills
- Inquisitiveness, including the ability to spot issues and articulate potential solutions
- Ability to juggle multiple projects while responding quickly to changing priorities
- Collaborative approach with both business and legal groups, with strong ability to build relationships, gain credibility, and partner with others
- Proficiency with key tools including Google Apps (Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, etc.), Word, Excel, Jira, and experience with or openness to learning new technical tools to assist the team
- Paralegal and/or California notary public certificate a plus
