Obj-She is a community that allows everyone to have the opportunity to learn and be inspired by industry leaders in tech who want to pay back to their community. Obj-She fosters open communication and connection within the tech industry.
The Obj-She Marketing Team will be responsible for owning, managing, and producing content for the Obj-She blog. The team will also collaborate with product and design to create compelling content for various marketing channels, including TikTok, LinkedIn and Instagram.
The ideal candidate is someone who pairs a passion for creating engaging content, with an expertise in the customer journey and using data to drive scalable growth strategies. This role will be very hands-on; focused on producing a consistent flow of content and engaging directly with our audience to drive visibility for the Obj-She brand.
As a volunteer Marketing Specialist you will have the opportunity to work alongside the Objective-She community. The core team comes from Uber, Facebook, Yelp, JP Morgan Chase, Credit Karma, Adobe, Seqouia, UC Davis, UC Berkeley, Carnegie Mellon, University of Michigan.
Fall 2020 interns with ObjShe should be available to work remotely at least 5-10 hours per week, from September 1, 2020 through December 31, 2021.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Work closely with ObjShe leadership develop a framework and guidelines for content production
- Collaborate with design, product, and content to create cohesive assets across platforms
- Provide high quality content for various marketing channels such as the blog, email marketing campaigns, social media, etc
- Strategize content needs based on brand voice and tone
- Engage with relevant social communities, such as Linkedin Instagram, Twitter, Tiktok, to build brand awareness and drive traffic to our website
- Perform general startup team member duties
Preferred qualifications:
• BS or equivalent degree in Liberal Arts, English, Marketing or a related field, or current enrollment at a university, or high school AP class
• You’re highly independent and prolific: Can brainstorm and execute on content ideas without oversight or management. Has creative vision and scrappy execution skills.
• You’re a strong, versatile writer with experience writing across social media channels and blogs
• Bonus: you have experience with video creation for social media and/or YouTube
• Experience communicating and solving technical challenges with a remote team of individual contributors, meeting via Zoom.
• Prior leadership experience with a sports team, academic club, or campus organization.
• Working knowledge of algorithms and data structures.
• Strong communication skills in verbal and written English.
