Python Backend Engineer

Role Overview

You will join our 15-person engineering and product team. We are an established startup with a mature product that has been in the market for several years. You will help maintain our existing offerings, while also working on greenfield new projects. You will be responsible for complex business logic, and build many third-party integrations, while ensuring scalability and stability. You will have real product ownership, and your work will directly shape the company. As a remote engineer, you will have wide autonomy and independence. This is a role with deep responsibility and impact.

Machine learning experience is helpful, but not required!

Our Stack:

• Python 3.8 + Django Backend
• Ubuntu on AWS
• Docker
• PostgreSQL databases
• Frontend React/NextJs on Vercel

Requirements:

• Two years back-end programming experience in Python
• Experience working with SQL and ORMs
• Experience working with REST, SOAP and GraphQL APIs preferred
• You care about code simplicity and performance
• You want to work in a fast-moving, high-growth startup environment
