About the job
About the company
Our client is building the AI-native system of work for enterprise marketing, with agentic systems that Fortune 500 brands rely on. Founded in 2023 with about 70 people, it raised its Series A, B and C within roughly 14 months and revenue has doubled again since its latest raise. The culture is builder-first: no bureaucracy, high autonomy and first-principles thinking.
The role
Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. You will be the founding security engineer, reporting to the VP of Engineering, and own product and platform security end to end. This is a software engineering role with a security focus, not a security operations role, with room to grow into a team lead.
What you'll do
- Set the security vision for an AI-native platform and build it yourself
- Own cloud, Kubernetes, IAM and secure SDLC for an agentic platform
- Secure LLM and agent systems against threats like prompt injection, including sandboxed execution and agent orchestration
- Build security controls, tooling and infrastructure as code ahead of a big scaling year
- Influence engineering decisions across teams and explain tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders
What we're looking for
- 5+ years as a software or security engineer, at Senior or Staff level
- Has owned security for complex cloud production systems
- Software engineering depth in cloud security, Kubernetes, IAM, Terraform and secure SDLC (AppSec-forward)
- Personally built and shipped the security work you describe, not just led a team that did
- Has worked with LLMs and understands AI-specific risks such as prompt injection in agentic systems
- US citizen or green card holder (no visa sponsorship)
Tech stack: Kubernetes, IAM, Terraform, infrastructure as code, cloud security, CI/CD, SOC 2, threat modeling
Bonus points
- A significant role at a larger tech company followed by startup experience, or an early security hire at a high-growth company
- Indicators of excellence outside engineering, such as a top school in another discipline or D1 athletics
Compensation and benefits
- $175K-$275K base
- Competitive equity
- Office gym and sauna, free lunch three days a week, flexible hours
- Relocation package available for strong candidates
Location and work model
- Seattle, WA
- On-site 5 days a week, with flexible hours
- Full-time
