AI Engineer Intern

As an AI Engineer Intern, you will build the AI systems that students and our internal teams rely on every day. Your role is not to build demos, but to ship LLM-powered agents and pipelines that work reliably in production, measure how well they work, and keep improving them. You’ll work closely with the founders, product and ops teams, and see your work used by real users.

Key Responsibilities:
●Build & Ship LLM Agents: Build LLM-powered agents and pipelines that real users depend on, taking
them from prototype to production.
●Evaluations: Define what “good” looks like, build evaluations to measure it, and improve quality using
data instead of guesswork.
●Python, Prompts & Retrieval: Work across Python services, prompts, tools, retrieval, and the data that feeds them.
●Monitoring & Iteration: Track failures in production through logs and traces, debug issues, and keep cost and latency in check after launch.
●Collaboration: Partner with founders, product, and ops teams to understand real problems, turn them into working solutions, and explain trade-offs clearly.
●End-to-End Ownership: Spot what’s broken, propose the fix, and ship it without waiting to be told.

Requirements
●Strong Python & LLM Fundamentals: Solid Python skills and a good grasp of how LLMs behave: prompting, tool use, structured outputs, and cost and latency trade-offs. Hands-on experience with at least one LLM API (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.), plus working knowledge of SQL, APIs, and Git.
●Proof of Work: Something real you’ve shipped, beyond a RAG demo or an agent tutorial, ideally used by people, with problems you had to debug. Share a GitHub link, a deployed project, or a short write-up.
●Ownership & Proactiveness: A self-starter who finds the next problem without being told, asks sharp
questions, and backs opinions with evidence.
●Comfort with Ambiguity: Prefers testing an idea today over debating it for a week, and is comfortable iterating fast with incomplete information.
●Communication: Ability to explain technical decisions, failures, and trade-offs clearly to non-technical teammates.

Good to Have:
●Experience with evaluations (including LLM-as-judge setups), agents in production, or data pipelines
●Exposure to vector databases or retrieval tuning
●Experience in a startup or early-stage environment

Job Type: 11 am to 8 pm. Onsite (Monday to Friday, from office) and Virtual (Saturday)
Education: Graduate/Post Graduation 2026, from IIT, NIT, IIIT, BITS or equivalent Tier 1 institutes.
