Software Engineer (Founding Engineer)

This is a founding engineering role where you own problems end to end. You understand what a
nutritionist, cook, or family needs, figure out how the solution should work, shape the data model
and API contracts, build across the backend and frontend, ship it, and see how it performs in the real
world, often within the same week.
You will work as a generalist across our technology stack. That means extending our Fastify APIs and
MongoDB data models, building a React PWA for customers, and developing an Android app that
cooks can use hands-free in the kitchen. You will also work directly with our culinary and nutrition
teams to understand operational bottlenecks and build tools that make their work simpler and more
effective.
There are no separate frontend and backend teams to hand work off to. You are responsible for
making the entire feature work.
You will work directly with the founder to decide what to build and why. We expect you to challenge
assumptions, question priorities, and make sound technical trade-offs. Our decision log is open to
the team, and every engineer is expected to contribute to how we think and build.
