Overview

The Product Manager – Identity & Memberships leads the roadmap, requirements, and outcomes for Office Depot's omni-channel customer, for the guest user, logged in, loyalty free and loyalty paid memberships and subscriptions, spanning across all channels and the experience associated with those channels.

Partners with Product Management include the Loyalty & Rewards Program lead, UX, Engineering, Marketing, CRM, Finance, and Store Operations to define and prioritize the products, initiatives, features, and new benefits that drive member acquisition, engagement, and retention across the customer journeys for officedepot.com, Office Depot's retail channels and partner integrations.

This role enables the end-to-end product lifecycle for Identity & Memberships — from strategy through requirements definition, delivery, measurement, and post-launch optimization.

The position exists to ensure the Customer Identity, Profile/Account & Membership features and benefits continuously delivers measurable value to members and to the business, and that every enhancement is grounded in clear outcomes, sound prioritization, and cross-functional, omni-channel alignment.

  • Primary Responsibilities:
  • Lead and evolve the product roadmap for Identity & Membership (free and paid tiers), delivering the benefits and features that drive customers and business outcomes across officedepot.com and retail stores.
  • Translate strategy into clear, prioritized requirements (epics, user stories, acceptance criteria) for new products, features, and benefits, partnering with UX, Engineering, Data, and Marketing to deliver consistent omni-channel experience. This includes writing epics, stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Define and own the measurement framework for Identity & Membership features, including adoption, funnel conversion, and post-launch validation of what we ship.
  • Coordinate delivery of new capabilities with UX, Engineering, IT, and vendors.
  • Run intake, evaluation, and prioritization of new benefit and partnership opportunities (e.g., co-brand offers, partner benefits, experiential rewards) in partnership with the program team, for both free and paid tiers.

Education and Experience:

  • Level of Formal Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Area of Study: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum Years of Experience: 5
  • Type of Experience: Marketing, Business Administration, Product Management, or a related field
  • Special Certifications: Relevant experience in product management, loyalty/membership program management, or ecommerce, ideally within retail, omni-channel retail, or subscription/membership business models
  • Technical Competencies & Information Systems: Product management/backlog tools (e.g., Jira, Aha!, Productboard); Agile/Scrum methodologies; loyalty, CRM, or membership management platforms; ecommerce platforms; familiarity with identity/CIAM concepts a plus; BI/reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Adobe Analytics)
  • Skills & Abilities: Strong strategic and analytical thinking with the ability to translate member insights and data into product decisions; excellent written and verbal communication; strong stakeholder management and cross-functional leadership; ability to prioritize and sequence competing initiatives; ability to build and communicate business cases and measurable outcomes
  • Personal Attributes & Other/Preferred: Member-first mindset with comfort balancing free-tier and paid-tier trade-offs; proactive and organized in managing a cross-channel roadmap; collaborative, with a bias toward action and continuous improvement
