We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer – Business Systems & Integrations to join one of our clients, a growing company in the luxury travel and hospitality industry.

Our client is looking for an experienced engineer who can take ownership of their internal business systems, improve existing workflows, build reliable integrations, and help develop a more modern and efficient operational platform.

Rather than rebuilding everything from scratch, you’ll focus on understanding what already works, identifying opportunities for improvement, and developing scalable solutions that make everyday operations easier.

What You’ll Do

Business Systems & Technical Ownership

• Take technical ownership of existing internal business systems and applications.
• Analyze and improve database structures, relationships, workflows, and business logic.
• Maintain and optimize existing systems while supporting their gradual modernization.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand operational challenges and translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Identify opportunities to improve data quality, system performance, and reliability.

Software Development & Integrations

• Design, develop, and maintain custom applications and internal tools.
• Build and manage integrations between business systems, CRMs, communication platforms, and third-party services.
• Develop reliable APIs, webhooks, and automated data synchronization processes.
• Create modern dashboards and user-friendly interfaces that simplify daily operations.
• Troubleshoot integration issues and implement solutions that ensure data consistency across platforms.

Workflow Automation & Process Improvement

• Design and implement automated workflows to reduce manual work and improve efficiency.
• Build scheduled processes, notifications, reminders, and task management automations.
• Identify bottlenecks and recommend practical technical improvements.
• Develop solutions that streamline operational processes and improve collaboration across teams.

AI & Emerging Technologies

• Explore practical opportunities to incorporate AI into existing workflows.
• Work with AI APIs for tasks such as transcription, summarization, information extraction, and classification.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions based on business value and reliability.

System Reliability & Documentation

• Ensure systems are secure, reliable, and maintainable.
• Implement appropriate testing, monitoring, logging, and error-handling practices.
• Protect sensitive business and customer information.
• Document technical decisions, system architecture, and important business processes.

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications

• Strong professional experience in software engineering, ideally working with complex business systems or internal applications.
• Solid understanding of relational databases, data modeling, SQL, and data integrity.
• Experience working with business platforms such as Quickbase, Salesforce, ERP/CRM systems, or comparable low-code platforms.
• Strong experience building and maintaining APIs and third-party integrations.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, PHP, or a comparable language.
• Experience with modern web development technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frontend or full-stack frameworks.
• Hands-on experience developing workflow automations, scheduled processes, and system integrations.
• Practical experience working with AI or large language model APIs.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work with complex, interconnected systems.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Comfortable working independently in a remote environment.

Nice to Have

• Hands-on experience with Quickbase, including formulas, Pipelines, APIs, and database relationships.
• Experience integrating CRM platforms such as HubSpot or Salesforce.
• Experience building internal dashboards, reporting tools, or operational management platforms.
• Familiarity with data migration and synchronization between multiple systems.
• Experience with transcription technologies or AI-powered workflow automation.
• Background working with travel, hospitality, logistics, or other operations-heavy businesses.
• Experience handling sensitive customer data and implementing security best practices.
