Data Acquisition Lead

What You'll Do

• Source, prioritize, and close new data partnerships
• Build a working map of the landscape: who's differentiated, who's redundant, where the white space is
• Evaluate datasets on coverage, history, granularity, refresh, entity quality, and incremental value over what we carry
• Negotiate full commercial agreements including pricing and licensing uses
• Coordinate with Compliance on provenance, consent, and permitted use
• Keep pipeline, terms precedent, and pursue or pass reasoning documented so decisions compound

What You'll Bring

• 5 to 7+ years in data acquisition, data partnerships, alternative data, licensing, or vendor management, with direct ownership of external datasets
• A growth mindset with openness to coaching, feedback, and continuous improvement
• A strong bias toward action and the autonomy to operate without direction.
• High emotional intelligence and a collaborative working style, enabling alignment across technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Fluency in licensing scope, derived works, redistribution, permitted use, usage-based and revenue-share pricing
• Enough technical depth to read a schema, question coverage and joins, and hold your own with technical counterparts
• Judgment to structure a deal rather than just close one, including knowing when to walk
