About the job
About the Role
The Insights Data Manager owns Carbon Arc's data assets from onboarding to launch, and is the person who can explain what each asset says, where it is reliable and where it is not. You will run the weekly data launch cadence while analyzing and interpreting our proprietary data to deliver actionable insights across companies, industries, and geographies.
This role sits within our Data Insights team and works cross functionally with Data Engineering, Applied Research, Product, Compliance, and GTM. You will work closely with Engineering, Research & Intelligence, GTM and Compliance to ship new data assets every week, and directly with clients to interpret trends, validate signals and understand limitations. It is ideal for someone who enjoys turning complex data into clear narratives and turning messy pipelines into a repeatable, high-quality launch process.
What You'll Do
Own weekly data launches
- Run Carbon Arc's weekly data launch cadence end to end: coordinate go/no-go and ship new data assets on schedule
- Guide each data asset through the full pipeline, from ingestion and cleaning to aggregation, so it is accurate and ready for metric resolution at launch
- Partner with Engineering, Research, GTM and Compliance to clarify requirements, pressure-test pipeline and architecture decisions, and remove blockers before launch day
- Define how customers discover, evaluate and get value from each new asset on Carbon Arc's usage-based platform
- Build client-facing documentation and launch materials, and improve internal tools so every team understands what an asset covers and how to use it
- Track post-launch adoption, usage and quality metrics, and use them with client feedback to prioritize which assets to launch, fix or retire
Represent and manage data-driven projects
- Be the key stakeholder in projects that leverage our data and ontology - coordinate between teams executing to deliver those projects
- Ensure timely delivery and prioritization
Deliver data insights
- Back-test data assets against company-reported or government-reported KPIs to validate accuracy and performance before and after launch
- Model company-reported metrics, highlighting nuances, limitations and blind spots at both the company and data-asset level
- Derive and communicate insights on companies, industries and geographies through direct client conversations
- Support investor presentations by helping clients interpret trends across multiple data assets and identify key takeaways
- Support special projects, presentations and reports as needed
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
- 4+ years of combined experience in project management, equity research, consulting, finance or data-driven business analysis, including shipping data-centric or SaaS products
- A track record of running repeatable launch or date release processes on a fixed cadence, with cross-functional teams across Engineering, Design and GTM
- Willingness to support data releases after hours once a week
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret and contextualize complex data, including data models, metrics and edge cases
- Working knowledge of SQL; Python preferred
- Familiarity with public-market KPIs and financial statement analysis
- A high bar for quality and a low tolerance for friction, from the underlying data to the final user experience
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities and weekly deadlines
- Clear written and verbal communication, especially when explaining data-driven insights to clients and aligning technical and non-technical stakeholders
- A growth mindset, with openness to coaching and feedback
Nice to Have
- Experience working directly with investor or institutional clients
- Experience with alternative data, data platforms or analytics products
- Experience building presentation materials, reports or investment memos
- Experience in early-stage or high-growth startups
What We Offer
- Competitive compensation
- Fully paid healthcare benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision)
- Remote work options
- 401(k) plan with employer contributions
- Unlimited paid time off
- Generous parental and family leave policies
- Challenging problems to tackle with a supportive, entrepreneurially driven team
- A strong work culture centered on integrity, excellence, truth, trust and transparency
