About the Role
Two backend engineers, one into the MiFiX.ai platform team and one into client
delivery. You will be writing Python services that handle real financial data for real
banks, with a senior engineer reviewing your work closely for the first few months.
This is the second rung of the engineering ladder: Graduate Engineer → Software
Engineer I → Software Engineer II → Senior Software Engineer. We expect you to
already write code that works; what you will learn here is writing code that survives
production, review and an auditor.

Key Responsibilities
Build and maintain API endpoints. FastAPI services against PostgreSQL, to the
team's existing patterns rather than your own.
Write the tests with the code. Not afterwards, not 'when there is time'. Tests
are part of the pull request.
Handle data carefully. Financial records. Validate inputs, parameterise every
query, and never log anything a customer would mind seeing in a log file.
Take code review seriously. You will get detailed review. Argue when you
disagree, change it when you are wrong, and do not repeat the same correction
twice.
Debug your own defects. Reproduce, find the cause, fix the cause — and say
what the cause was rather than 'it works now'.
Document what you build. A short README or endpoint note so the next
person does not have to read the whole module.

What You Bring

• 1–3 years writing Python professionally.
• FastAPI or Flask exposure — you have built and run an HTTP service.
• SQL and PostgreSQL basics: joins, indexes, and why a query might be slow.
• Git as a working tool — branches, pull requests, resolving your own conflicts.
• Readable code. Sensible names, small functions, no cleverness for its own sake.
• BE / BTech / MCA or equivalent.

What Would Be Great to Have

• Pandas or scikit-learn.
• Docker, and any exposure to a CI pipeline.
• Async Python and SQLAlchemy 2.0.
• Financial-services data exposure.
• AI-assisted development tools used with judgement — we use them, and we
• expect you to review what they produce.
