About the job
About Precognition Labs:
Precognition Labs builds AI agentic systems that expand review and investigation capacity for Trust & Safety, Fraud, Risk & Compliance teams. We focus on high-impact applications of AI where precision, reliability, and responsible deployment are essential. Our team works on technology that directly improves how organizations protect their users and platforms, while shaping the future of AI-driven risk and safety operations.
The role:
As a Senior/Principal AI Engineer, you’ll design, build, and deploy advanced AI systems that support large-scale review, investigation, and decision-making workflows. You’ll architect our software infrastructure and agentic systems, lead initiatives from concept to production, and raise the technical bar for the whole team.
What you’ll do:
- Architect software infrastructure and agentic AI systems built for precision, reliability, and scale
- Lead technical initiatives from concept to production, making key design and architecture decisions
- Implement robust models and pipelines, and integrate them into production environments
- Define how we evaluate, monitor, and responsibly deploy AI systems
- Work with product and domain experts to refine requirements and success metrics
- Mentor engineers and set the standard for engineering quality
What we’re looking for:
- 10+ years of software engineering experience
- In a recent role, you’ve architected software infrastructure and agentic or production-grade AI systems
- A track record of leading initiatives from concept to production
- Strong computer science fundamentals: algorithms, data structures, distributed systems, and software engineering principles
- Proficiency in Python and modern tooling for testing, CI/CD, and monitoring
- Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and the ability to work independently
- An advanced degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in senior or principal engineering roles
Nice to have:
- Background in Trust & Safety, fraud detection, risk management, or related domains
- Experience with responsible AI, evaluation frameworks, and human-in-the-loop review systems
Who thrives here:
We’re a small team, so the people who do best here care about AI and safety, bring expertise that makes everyone around them sharper, and enjoy finding a way forward on hard problems. They move quickly, take ownership without waiting to be asked, and put real energy into the work while keeping a clear sense of what matters most.
Location:
Hybrid, Seattle: 3 days a week in office. Relocation support available for candidates moving to Washington. Visa sponsorship is available for H-1B transfers only; we’re unable to sponsor new visas at this time.
Compensation:
Base salary of $180K–$240K depending on experience, plus a 25% annual target performance bonus and 0–2% equity over 4 years, scaled by experience.
