About the job
About Precognition Labs:
Precognition Labs builds AI agentic systems that expand review and investigation capacity for Trust & Safety, Fraud, Risk & Compliance teams. We focus on high-impact applications of AI where precision, reliability, and responsible deployment are essential. Our team works on technology that directly improves how organizations protect their users and platforms, while shaping the future of AI-driven risk and safety operations.
The role:
As an AI Engineer, you’ll own features and pipelines independently from design to production in AI systems that support large-scale review, investigation, and decision-making workflows. You’ll help shape how we evaluate and monitor our AI systems, and work closely with product and domain experts to turn complex problems into reliable, production-ready solutions.
What you’ll do:
- Own features and pipelines end to end, from design through deployment and iteration
- Build and improve agentic AI solutions, RAG pipelines, and LLM-powered workflows
- Contribute to evaluation and monitoring of AI systems so they stay accurate and reliable in production
- Integrate AI systems into production environments with strong testing, CI/CD, and observability
- Work with product and domain experts to refine requirements and success metrics
What we’re looking for:
- 5–10 years of software engineering experience
- Hands-on experience building production AI systems, such as RAG systems, AI agents, LLM fine-tuning, or LLM context engineering
- Strong computer science fundamentals: algorithms, data structures, distributed systems, and software engineering principles
- Proficiency in Python and modern tooling for testing, CI/CD, and monitoring
- Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and the ability to work independently
- A degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
Nice to have:
- Background in Trust & Safety, fraud detection, risk management, or related domains
- Experience with responsible AI, evaluation frameworks, and human-in-the-loop review systems
Who thrives here:
We’re a small team, so the people who do best here care about AI and safety, bring expertise that makes everyone around them sharper, and enjoy finding a way forward on hard problems. They move quickly, take ownership without waiting to be asked, and put real energy into the work while keeping a clear sense of what matters most.
Location:
Hybrid, Seattle: 3 days a week in office. Relocation support available for candidates moving to Washington. Visa sponsorship is available for H-1B transfers only; we’re unable to sponsor new visas at this time.
Compensation:
Base salary of $120K–$180K depending on experience, plus a 25% annual target performance bonus and 0–2% equity over 4 years, scaled by experience.
