About us
We are an early-stage, founder-led grid-technology company building AI software that helps electricity utilities study, approve and connect large new loads, such as 100–500 MW data centres, in weeks instead of months. Our two core products are capacity mapping, which shows where spare grid capacity exists for new large loads, and flexible-load interconnection, which lets large consumers adjust their demand when the grid is stressed so they can be connected sooner. Our software is designed to plug into leading utility grid-management platforms with in-country hosting. We will serve utilities in the USA and worldwide, and we are building our first core team.
The role
You will run and automate the grid studies that sit at the heart of our capacity-mapping product. Your work turns months of manual study into results a utility can trust in weeks.
What you'll do
• Build and maintain network models from utility data
• Run load-flow, short-circuit and N-1 contingency studies for 100–500 MW loads
• Automate study workflows with Python so they can run at scale
• Produce training and validation datasets for our AI models
• Compare AI-predicted capacity with full study results and report gaps
• Prepare clear study reports for utility planners
What you bring
• 4+ years in power-systems studies, planning or interconnection
• Hands-on PSS/E, PowerWorld, PSCAD or PowerFactory experience
• Python scripting for study automation
• Solid understanding of transmission and distribution networks
• Degree in electrical or power engineering
Nice to have
• Hosting-capacity or large-load study experience
• Experience with GIS network data
• Familiarity with US interconnection queues and FERC Order 2023
What we offer
• Remote-first, flexible hours
• Direct mentorship from a founder
• Real ownership: your work goes live on a utility grid in our first pilot
How to apply
Send your CV or portfolio, and a short note on a study workflow you automated and the time it saved, to [email protected]. Subject line: Interconnection & Load-Flow Study Engineer.
