About the job
Rentable is hiring its first marketing leader. You will be the first person at Rentable to own marketing end to end, with the mandate to make sure the entire industry knows our name and that awareness turns into meetings and new business.
We have hundreds of customers and a sales team that is already generating pipeline. What we do not have is anyone whose job is to amplify that: a clear, consistent presence at the conferences our buyers attend, content that compounds, a social presence that sounds like us, and an efficient inbound process. You will build all of that from scratch, do most of it yourself at first, and grow the function (with a path to becoming Head of Marketing) as the results justify it.
You will work directly with the founders and the sales team.
What you’ll own:
Events and conferences. Build and run Rentable’s annual tradeshow and conference calendar (NAA Apartmentalize, state and regional apartment association shows, PMS user conferences like Rent Manager, and the ones we have not found yet). Decide where we go, at what sponsorship level, and why, and own the budget behind those decisions. Run the full cycle around each event: pre-show outreach and meeting booking with sales, booth and on-site execution, and post-show follow-up so no conversation dies in a stack of badge scans.
Organic content. Own the content calendar: case studies and customer stories, website copy and landing pages, blog and thought-leadership pieces, and the interviews with customers that feed all of it. Make Rentable the clearest voice on security deposits in multifamily.
Social media. Run our LinkedIn presence (company page and executive voice) and whatever other channels earn their place. Consistent, specific, and sounding like us.
Inbound lead process. Own the path from first touch to booked meeting: website forms, content downloads, event leads, and chat. Define lead qualification, build the routing and follow-up in HubSpot with sales, and report on what converts.
Measurement and reporting. Set up attribution well enough to say which events, channels, and content produce meetings and closed business, and use that to reallocate budget each quarter.
Brand and partner marketing. Keep the brand consistent across sales decks, the website, and events, and support co-marketing with our property management software partners.
In the first 90 days you will build the 2027 event calendar with sponsorship recommendations, ship your first customer case study, set a weekly LinkedIn cadence, and establish a measurement and reporting framework for marketing performance.
Who we’re looking for:
A generalist with 5 to 8 years of B2B marketing experience who has run events and content at a small company and wants to own a whole function, not a slice of one.
You should have:
- Hands-on B2B marketing experience at a company with fewer than 100 employees, where you were the one doing the work, not briefing an agency
- Run a tradeshow or conference program end to end: vendor selection, sponsorship negotiation, booth logistics, pre-show outreach, and post-show follow-up
- Written content that people in a specific industry actually read: case studies, long-form posts, landing pages
- Built or run a LinkedIn presence for a company or executive
- Worked in HubSpot (or a comparable CRM) on lead capture, routing, and reporting
- Comfort working directly with a sales team and being measured on meetings and pipeline, not impressions
Strong plus:
- Multifamily, proptech, or property management software experience, or having sold or marketed into property managers and owners
- Experience as the first or only marketer somewhere
- Familiarity with the apartment-industry event circuit (NAA, state associations, PMS user conferences)
About Rentable:
Rentable is a security deposit management platform for multifamily owners and property managers. We take the deposit process off the property manager’s plate, making sure deposits are held, accounted for, and returned correctly in every state we operate in. Hundreds of property management companies use Rentable today, we have a native integration with Rent Manager with more partners on the way, and the business is growing rapidly.
