About the job

Define and evolve the design tokens (color, type, spacing) that live in code as the single source of truth
Build and refine component code from spec, working alongside AI-drafted implementations
Maintain component documentation and usage examples engineers actually read
Write and maintain the design/agent-readable guidance repo — the rules a coding agent or new engineer reads before building a screen
Translate new feature requirements into layout and interaction guidance for engineering
Review flagged UI exceptions and sign off before a feature ships, whether it's human-built or agent-built
Prototype new interaction patterns and micro-interactions directly in code
Evolve CREAO's brand identity and visual language as the product grows
How you'll work with AI: AI handles the mechanical first pass everywhere it can — running a compliance check on every new UI surface against your tokens and components, and scanning the shipped codebase for design-system drift. You handle everything that requires judgment: what belongs in the guidance repo, which flagged exceptions actually matter, and catching AI-generated UI that technically passes but still reads wrong.

AI runs first-pass compliance checks on every new screen against your token and component rules
AI scans the shipped product for design-system drift so you're not hunting for it manually
You keep the compliance ruleset itself current as the system evolves — nobody else owns that
You sign off on every flagged exception before it ships, human-built or agent-built
What we're looking for
3+ years designing and shipping production UI, with hands-on front-end code experience — not portfolio-only Figma work
Comfortable signing off on or escalating AI-generated UI on evidence, never rubber-stamping it
Can turn a messy new feature into a clear, buildable layout structure engineers can run with
Writes guidance an engineer or coding agent can follow without needing a follow-up conversation
Working proficiency with React, Storybook and Git
Bachelor's degree in Design (Visual, Interaction or HCI), or equivalent experience
Nice to have
Familiarity with Figma for early-stage prototyping (a plus, not required)
