About the job
Job Description: Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) (Cybersecurity Platform)
About the Team
SecurITe’s mission is to build an Agentic-AI driven security platform that protects critical infrastructure from modern cyber threats. Our focus is on delivering highly performant, resilient, and intelligent network security systems that help defenders stay ahead of adversaries.
About the Role
We’re looking for an exceptional Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to ensure the peak uptime, resilience, performance, and scalability of our next-generation cybersecurity AI platform. This is a critical opportunity to engineer robust reliability into a platform where system availability directly impacts defense capabilities against live cyber threats.
As an SRE at SecurITe, you will define and implement availability metrics, service level objectives (SLOs), automated failure recovery, and chaos engineering practices across cloud and enterprise on-premise environments. You will work at the intersection of infrastructure reliability, software engineering, observability, chaos engineering, and platform security.
You’ll collaborate closely with Platform, AI/ML, Backend, and Security Engineering teams to build automated self-healing systems, optimize multi-tenant and multi-region deployments, run production readiness reviews, and lead operational excellence initiatives.
This role is ideal for reliability engineers and system specialists who excel at solving complex distributed systems challenges, conducting rigorous root-cause analysis, and eliminating operational toil through code.
Why This Role Matters
In modern cybersecurity, platform downtime or latency can lead to undetected security incidents and unmitigated attack vectors. As our Site Reliability Engineer, you will architect the reliability framework that guarantees high availability and sub-second detection response times for our AI-driven security engine.
Your work will directly safeguard mission-critical systems and critical infrastructure deployments. You’ll build the continuous verification systems, incident response automation, and performance guardrails that allow SecurITe to scale seamlessly across enterprise hybrid cloud and on-premise environments.
What You’ll Do
Define, track, and enforce SLIs, SLOs, and Error Budgets across core AI platform microservices and detection engines
Design and implement automated incident response, self-healing architecture, and automated failover for hybrid cloud/on-prem environments
Establish production readiness standards and perform comprehensive reviews for new services prior to deployment
Lead enterprise incident management, drive blameless post-mortems, and eliminate recurring failure modes
Build advanced telemetry and observability dashboards covering synthetic monitoring, real-user monitoring, and kernel-level metrics
Conduct capacity planning, load testing, and chaos engineering experiments to identify latency bottlenecks and system failure modes
Partner with development teams to reduce operational toil through infrastructure-as-code and automated runtime remediation
Impact You’ll Have
Maintain enterprise-grade uptime and strict latency SLAs for real-time cyber defense operations
Minimize mean time to detect (MTTD) and mean time to resolve (MTTR) through intelligent alerting and auto-remediation
Prevent systemic outages through proactive capacity planning, load profiling, and failure mode simulation
Foster a strong engineering culture of operational excellence, blameless reflection, and continuous reliability testing
Ensure seamless performance and stability during sudden security event spikes and high-throughput traffic bursts
Required Experience
4+ years of dedicated experience as a Site Reliability Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or Infrastructure Engineer in mission-critical environments
Deep Linux system internals and administration experience (RHEL, AlmaLinux, Ubuntu, kernel tuning, network stacks)
Proven experience managing high-availability production workloads on AWS and hybrid on-prem environments
Experience building and maintaining SLO/SLI models, error budget policies, and alerting pipelines
Strong programming/scripting proficiency (Python, Go, or Bash) for building internal reliability tools and operators
Demonstrated track record of leading incident response, post-mortems, and root cause analysis (RCA) for complex distributed systems
Required Skills & Qualifications
Strong knowledge of distributed systems architecture, microservices networking, and failure domains
Deep familiarity with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
Experience with infrastructure automation and state management (Terraform, Ansible)
Expertise with full-stack observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, ELK/OpenSearch, Datadog)
Solid understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, TLS, DNS, BGP) and load balancing techniques
Experience with databases, high-throughput message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ, Redis), and storage performance tuning
Excellent technical communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
Nice to Have
Linux Foundation or Cloud certifications (CKA/CKAD, AWS Certified SysOps / DevOps Engineer)
Experience with chaos engineering frameworks (Gremlin, Chaos Mesh, Litmus)
Background in cybersecurity, network security, or intrusion detection system monitoring
Familiarity with eBPF-based monitoring and kernel-level performance tracing (BCC, bpftrace)
The Mindset
Problem Solver
You dissect complex failure modes under pressure and devise bulletproof long-term preventions.
Ownership-Driven
You treat platform stability and customer trust as your top priorities, taking pride in system resilience.
Automation-First
You view manual operational tasks as bugs that must be automated away.
Startup DNA
You thrive in dynamic environments where speed, reliability, and technical rigor go hand in hand.
