Academic Mentor – JEE (Founding Team)

Help build a better way for students to learn and crack JEE.

Ukel is looking to hire an Academic Mentor to join its founding team. Our classes are taught by AI; our mentors guide each student through their JEE journey, counselling them through setbacks, building discipline and consistency, and giving them confidence that they are on the right path. The ideal candidate knows JEE first-hand, connects easily with students and parents, and brings high energy and ownership. You will work directly with the founders and build this role from zero to one.

What you'll do

• Mentor and guide students through their JEE preparation as their go-to person
• Counsel students through stress, setbacks and low motivation, and build their confidence
• Run live AI-led classes, make sure everyone attends, and check in early with anyone slipping
• Run progress calls with students and parents with data-driven evidence from the student's work
• Onboard new students and guide them through their first 2-3 sessions until they are confident using Ukel.
• Work with the founders and product team to improve the UKEL experience. Develop repeatable processes that make effective mentoring scalable.

Who we're looking for

We care more about how you think and work with students than the prestige of your degree. You could be a good fit if you:

• have a strong understanding of IIT-JEE preparation and the academic journey students go through.
• are analytical, organised, and comfortable using data and technology to make decisions.
• have excellent communication skills in English & Hindi and can build trust with teenagers and parents
• have a good foundation in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

Ideal candidate would have a B.Tech / B.E. or B.Sc. / M.Sc. (PCM) with personal JEE preparation experience. 1-4 years as an academic mentor, counsellor or teacher in edtech, school or coaching is a big plus.
