Senior Engineer — Trading Systems

TransFi is a stablecoin-native cross-border payments company headquartered in Singapore. We move money across 70+ countries, supporting 40+ currencies and 250+ local payment methods across Latin America, Southeast Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa, with an engineering team of around 40.

The role
You'll build and operate the systems that quote prices and manage inventory across crypto markets. Concretely:

• Design and build the pricing engine — order book analysis, depth-aware pricing, spread and markup logic
• Build the risk layer: inventory and exposure limits, position monitoring, kill switches, circuit breakers
• Handle the failure modes that matter — stale market data, venue outages, partial fills, self-trade and price-drift protection
• Integrate with exchange APIs and our existing payment and treasury infrastructure
• Work directly with the treasury trading desk on what they actually need, and with our CPTO on architecture

What we're looking for

• Experience building or operating market making, algo trading or exchange systems — this is the non-negotiable one
• Strong grasp of order books, inventory risk, adverse selection, and what goes wrong when a quoting system meets a thin market
• Comfortable owning production systems that move real money, including on-call for them
• Backend depth in Python, and Javascript
• Able to work closely with a trading desk and translate their intent into system behaviour

Nice to have

• Crypto exchange experience, particularly Binance APIs or P2P markets
• Background at a prop trading firm, market maker, or crypto exchange
• Exposure to regulated financial infrastructure
