About the job
The Role:
We are looking for a hands-on founding marketing leader to build SourceIQ’s go-to-market and marketing function from the ground up. This is a builder role for someone who can move between strategy and execution — shaping positioning and messaging, creating content, building organic demand, supporting enterprise sales, establishing marketing systems, and learning directly from the market.
You will work closely with the Founder/CEO, Head of Design, Head of Sales, Chief of Staff, and Product/Technology leadership to create a coherent market narrative and repeatable go-to-market engine. You will help ensure that what SourceIQ says in the market, what Sales sells, what Product builds, and what customers experience reinforce one another.
We are especially interested in leaders who have built B2B marketing in an early-stage or founding environment and understand enterprise buying cycles. Experience in fintech, data, sales technology, procurement/supply chain, or adjacent enterprise software is a plus. Experience in a VC-backed company, high-growth environment, or through an exit is also valuable.
CORE ATTRIBUTES
What You Bring to The Table
Builder - You are energized by creating structure where little exists. You can build the strategy, write the copy, launch the campaign, review the data, and improve the system yourself.
Enterprise GTM Judgment - You understand that enterprise marketing is not just lead generation. You know how positioning, trust, proof, sales enablement, buyer education, long cycles, multiple stakeholders, and customer evidence work together.
Ownership - You take responsibility for outcomes, not just activity. You identify gaps, form a point of view, communicate clearly, and follow through.
Customer Curiosity - You want to understand why customers buy, stall, adopt, expand, or walk away. You use customer and sales feedback to refine messaging, content, and go-to-market priorities.
Pragmatism - You know how to prioritize when the company is early, resources are constrained, and not every channel or campaign should exist yet.
Cross-Functional Collaboration - You partner closely with Sales, Design, Product, Operations, and leadership. You challenge ideas constructively, respect decision rights, and help the company operate as one system.
Stewardship - You treat leadership as responsibility. You create clarity, share knowledge, develop others, put the mission ahead of ego, and leave the team and systems stronger than you found them.
JOB DUTIES
What You Can Expect Day-to-Day
Build and own SourceIQ’s marketing strategy from the ground up, aligned to company priorities, enterprise customer needs, sales goals, and product direction.
Define and continuously refine SourceIQ’s category positioning, value proposition, messaging architecture, buyer narratives, and competitive differentiation.
Partner with the Head of Sales to translate the ICP, enterprise buying process, pipeline learning, objections, and customer feedback into stronger messaging, enablement, content, and demand programs.
Create the early marketing operating system: priorities, content calendar, campaign planning, KPI definitions, reporting, ownership, and review cadence.
Lead product marketing for SourceIQ’s platform, including launch narratives, use cases, customer-facing materials, POC/pilot support, sales enablement, proof points, and competitive context.
Build a high-quality organic content engine across thought leadership, founder/leadership content, website, social, email, customer education, and market-facing resources.
Develop organic demand-generation programs that create qualified enterprise interest without relying on premature paid-growth spending.
Partner with Design to ensure SourceIQ’s brand, visual identity, website, decks, collateral, and product storytelling are coherent and enterprise credible.
Work directly with enterprise customers and prospects to understand decision criteria, pain points, objections, trust concerns, adoption barriers, and language that resonates.
Establish a customer proof system over time: case studies, testimonials, customer outcomes, POC learnings, references, and evidence that strengthens conversion.
Support event, partnership, PR, analyst/influencer, and ecosystem opportunities where they materially advance enterprise credibility or pipeline.
Build marketing analytics and attribution appropriate for SourceIQ’s stage, with clear definitions for what is working, what is not, and where leadership should invest next.
Help shape future marketing hiring and determine what should remain internal, fractional, agency-supported, or deferred.
Bring market and customer insight into quarterly planning and product prioritization while avoiding one-off commitments that fragment the product or brand.
Protect the integrity of SourceIQ’s external claims. Marketing must accurately reflect product capability, security readiness, customer proof, and approved company commitments.

QUALIFICATIONS
What it Takes
Minimum Required
7+ years of B2B marketing, product marketing, growth, demand generation, or GTM experience, including meaningful ownership in an early-stage or rapidly scaling environment.
Demonstrated experience marketing to enterprise buyers; enterprise experience is required.
Experience building or materially shaping a GTM and marketing function from an early stage rather than only operating inside an established marketing machine.
Hands-on ability across positioning, messaging, content, product marketing, organic demand generation, sales enablement, and marketing operations.
Strong writing and communication skills, including the ability to turn complex technology, data, AI, or procurement concepts into clear business value.
Experience partnering tightly with enterprise sales teams and using pipeline/customer feedback to improve marketing strategy.
Strong analytical judgment and comfort defining practical KPIs, attribution, and operating cadences at an early-stage company.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize aggressively and operate effectively with limited resources, incomplete information, and changing priorities.
Leadership style grounded in ownership, collaboration, accountability, low ego, and respect for cross-functional expertise.
Preferred
B2B enterprise SaaS experience.
Experience in fintech, data, sales technology, procurement, supply chain, supplier management, or another data-intensive enterprise category.
Experience as a founding or first senior marketing hire.
Experience in a VC-backed company, through a meaningful scale-up, fundraising cycle, acquisition, or exit.
Strong product-marketing background and experience supporting complex technical products.
Experience creating category narratives or helping define a new market category.
Experience building founder-led content and thought-leadership programs.
Experience with partnerships, communities, analyst relations, PR, events, or ecosystem marketing in an enterprise context.
Experience hiring and developing early marketing team members or managing fractional/agencies effectively.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
Early Outcomes
A clear, documented SourceIQ positioning and messaging architecture that Sales, Design, Product, and leadership can use consistently.
A focused ICP and buyer narrative informed by current enterprise opportunities and customer/prospect evidence.
A practical organic marketing and content engine with clear priorities, ownership, cadence, and measures.
Sales enablement and POC/customer-facing materials that shorten the GTM cycle and reduce unnecessary one-off work.
A marketing KPI framework tied to qualified enterprise interest, progression, engagement, content performance, and customer proof rather than vanity metrics.
A prioritized marketing roadmap that distinguishes what SourceIQ should do now from what should wait until there is more capital, proof, or team capacity.
HOW WE WORK
At SourceIQ, we believe visibility creates opportunity — for the businesses our platform serves and for the people building it. We are building a company where talented people can grow, contribute beyond their title, and take meaningful ownership.
Own the outcome: take responsibility for results, surface problems early, and bring recommendations.
Be a student first: learn before prescribing, ask before assuming, and change your position when better evidence emerges.
Communicate with clarity: share context, explain reasoning, surface blockers, and close loops.
Accountability with respect: hold a high bar without diminishing people.
Contribution over credentials: demonstrated judgment, learning, and results matter more than pedigree alone.
Build together: respect other functions, share knowledge, and challenge ideas without diminishing people.
Lead through service: use responsibility to create clarity, remove barriers, develop others, protect the organization, and advance the mission.
COMMITMENT/COMPENSATION
Equity: 3.0% equity, subject to the company’s applicable vesting terms, governing-body approval, equity plan, and definitive agreement.
Cash compensation: This is an equity-only role at the current stage. Salary is expected to be introduced after successful fundraising or achievement of agreed revenue goals, subject to a separate written compensation agreement.
Commitment: Approximately 25–30 hours per week initially, with the expectation of transitioning to a full-time commitment as SourceIQ grows and business needs require.
