About the job
Supervest/ YES
Onsite, New York City
We've reached the point where strong engineering needs strong product direction behind it. Today we're missing the connective tissue: complete product requirements, a long-term product roadmap, and a reliable system for turning ideas into shipped features on a predictable timeline. Without them, we build for today and keep coming back to fix what we already shipped.
We're hiring our first dedicated Product Manager to own that end to end. You'll define what we build and why, then drive how and when it ships, across all three products, working directly with the COO and CRO and a team of engineers. This is a hands-on builder's role: you'll review what we’ve built, write the specs, own the roadmap, run the sprints, and be accountable for delivery. Your job is to make sure what we build today is the foundation for what we need next, so we build it once.
What you'll do
- Review what we’ve built and what’s planned: Audit existing requirements, shipped features, and in-flight work across YES, Supervest and Top Choice. Find the gaps and design choices that will force rework, and resolve them in the spec before engineering starts.
- Build and own the product roadmap: Create and maintain a 12 to 18 month roadmap for all three products. Sequence work so each release builds toward where the product needs to go, map dependencies across shared integrations, payments, and compliance, and design for what’s coming so we don’t rebuild later.
- Own product requirements: Turn the company’s vision, user feedback, and regulatory constraints into clear, complete specs, user stories, acceptance criteria, edge cases, and success metrics, that engineers can build from without guesswork. In fintech, the edge cases and failure states are the product, so this matters more here than most places. Write every spec with the roadmap in mind, so today’s build supports what comes next.
- Run delivery: Plan and run sprints, maintain the backlog, set realistic timelines, and keep a clear shared view of what each engineer is working on and where things stand. Surface blockers early and keep the team moving. This includes managing our outsourced development partner: reviewing and accepting their work against acceptance criteria, and owning the backlog and documentation in our own Jira and Confluence.
- Be the technical check on engineering: Our engineering team is offshore, so you are our eyes on whether things are being built correctly. Understand what engineers are building at the level of architecture, data models, APIs, and integrations. Review technical designs, code changes, and test results, ask the hard questions, and call out work that doesn’t meet the spec or our standards before it ships.
- Hold the team accountable to outcomes: Make commitments visible, track progress against them, and follow up when work slips. Build a culture where the team reliably ships what it committed to.
- Prioritize ruthlessly: Balance user impact, technical effort, compliance requirements, and business goals to decide what gets built now versus later. Say no to the right things.
- Use AI to move faster: Leverage AI tools (Claude and others) to draft requirements, summarize user and partner feedback, generate test cases, and accelerate the documentation and planning work that usually slows teams down.
What we're looking for
- 3+ years in product management or a blended PM role, ideally at an early-stage startup where you wore multiple hats.
- A track record of writing clear product requirements that engineers actually liked working from.
- Experience building and maintaining a multi-quarter product roadmap, and the habit of thinking two or three releases ahead so today’s work doesn’t need to be redone.
- Strong delivery instincts: you can run a sprint, keep a team on schedule, and create accountability without micromanaging.
- Strong technical fluency: you can read code, review an API spec, data model, or architecture diagram, and tell when something is being built wrong. You ask engineers the questions that surface problems early, and you push back when the work isn’t right.
- Hands-on experience using AI tools in your real workflow, not just curiosity about them.
- Comfort with ambiguity and a bias toward action. Early-stage means defining the process, not inheriting it.
Strongly preferred
- Experience in fintech, payments, lending, escrow, or another regulated, money-movement domain, and comfort building when compliance (KYC, KYB, AML, SOC 2) is a hard constraint, not an afterthought.
- Experience taking a product from pre-launch through its first real users.
- Experience managing outsourced or offshore engineering teams.
- A background in software engineering, QA, or solutions engineering before moving into product.
- Familiarity setting up product/delivery tooling from scratch.
Compensation and Benefits
The base salary range for this role is $130,000-$150,000, base plus monthly/quarterly discretionary bonus tied to growth results, and a full benefits package. The final offer will depend on experience, skills, and fit.
Benefits include:
401(k) plan
Health insurance
Dental and vision insurance, fully covered at no cost to you
Paid time off (PTO)
