Electrical Engineer – Hardware Test & Validation
Location: New York City, NY

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive BOM scrubs to identify at-risk and EOL components and recommend/qualify alternatives.
- Perform Change Impact Analysis (CIA) for component changes, evaluating form, fit, function, and associated risks.
- Create and execute complete ECO packages, including schematics, PCB layouts, CAD models, and validation plans.
- Partner with firmware/software teams to validate releases against hardware configurations.
- Lead 8D Failure Analysis investigations, including containment, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive measures.
- Collaborate with Quality, Manufacturing, and Design teams to resolve field and production failures permanently.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of experience in Hardware Sustaining, Product Engineering, or Test Engineering
- Consumer electronics or hardware manufacturing experience
- Altium, Cadence, OrCAD, or equivalent schematic/PCB design tools
- PCB layout and schematic capture experience
- BOM management and electronic component lifecycle management
- Component datasheet/specification analysis and alternate component qualification
- Hardware/Firmware integration and embedded systems knowledge
- 8D, FMEA, Fishbone, 5-Why and Root Cause Analysis
- Familiarity with IPC standards
- PLM/PDM systems and formal change management processes
- DFM/DFT principles
- CAD/3D modeling experience for electromechanical design
Preferred
- Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering and experience working in complex consumer hardware environments.
