Head of Engineering, BLUE SARAH

As our Head of Engineering, you will be the most senior fingers on the keys technical leader in
the company. You will own the operation of the product platform end-to-end, including the
architecture, delivery, security, cost, and uptime, while working directly alongside the CEO,CRO,
CTO, and investors, and early customers.

You inherit a clean, well-architected codebase, thorough design documentation, and a focused
list of hard engineering problems to solve.

What You Will Do
● Ship Core Code: Act as our primary hands-on builder for at least the first year, writing
production code across backend services, browser automation engines, and
mobile/web applications.
● Lead Platform & Security: Take our production environment through pre-GA security
assessments and PCI DSS compliance (SAQ-D posture).
● Solve Hard Engineering Problems: Optimize real-time LLM chat streaming, scale
resilient multi-browser checkout automation, and execute our long-term mobile
strategy.
● Build & Scale the Team: Assist in hiring, lead, and mentor and managing our
engineering team while establishing a disciplined engineering culture and evaluating
build-vs-buy tradeoffs.

Who We Are Looking For
● 5+ years of production software experience, with 3+ years working as a tech lead or
startup technical founder
● Full-Stack Proficiency: Deep expertise in TypeScript (Node/Bun), relational and
vector databases (Postgres, pgvector), and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Terraform).
● Security & Compliance Mastery: Experience shipping software that handles
payment card data or leading systems through PCI DSS, SOC 2, or equivalent audits.
● Applied LLM Experience: Practical experience delivering LLM-backed applications,
with an acute focus on latency optimization, token streaming, cost control, and model
evaluation.
● Bias for Simplicity: Strong conviction around minimal, well-documented architectures
over overly complex frameworks.

Nice to Have:
● Scaling browser automation (Playwright).
● E-commerce/retail integrations.
● Experience with Rust, SvelteKit, or React Native / Expo.
