Intern - NPD

About the Role

We're looking for an NPD Intern to support our New Product Development team across market research, product benchmarking, sample evaluation, documentation, and product development activities. This role offers hands-on exposure to how consumer electronics products are researched, benchmarked, validated, and taken from concept to launch, while working closely with Engineering, Design, Quality, Supply Chain, and Marketing teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle physical product samples directly - unboxing, functional testing, build-quality checks, and comparison against competitor units sitting side-by-side on your desk.
• Benchmark hardware products across features, specifications, materials, pricing, and user experience.
• Support sample evaluation and validation — flag defects, track root causes, document findings.
• Coordinate with vendors/suppliers on sample sourcing, component trade-offs, and delivery timelines.
• Track competitor hardware launches, teardown reports, and market trends in consumer electronics.
• Maintain product comparison sheets, defect trackers, and evaluation reports used by the team.
• Work directly with Engineering, Design, Quality, Supply Chain, and Marketing as a product moves from sample to shelf.
• Use AI tools to speed up research, documentation, and reporting — while validating the final output yourself.

What We Are Looking For

• Final-year student or recent graduate from Engineering or a related field.
• Real hands-on hardware experience — you've built, tested, repaired, or evaluated a physical product or prototype, not just written code for one.
• Exposure to vendor negotiation, supplier coordination, or sourcing is a strong plus.
• Genuine interest in consumer electronics - you notice build quality, not just specs on paper Strong analytical and structured thinking.
• Comfortable with Excel/Google Sheets and AI tools.
• Able to take ownership of assigned work and communicate findings clearly.
