We are developing an AI-enabled platform that helps organizations find relevant expertise and manage projects from initial requests through delivery.

We are seeking an experienced full-stack developer to support the ongoing development and improvement of our platform on a casual, part-time basis.

About the role

You will work directly with the founder to assess the existing platform, recommend practical improvements, and deliver priority features. This role suits someone who enjoys working independently, solving problems, and helping an early-stage company make thoughtful use of limited resources.

Initial work will involve reviewing the codebase and completing a clearly scoped improvement. Subsequent work will be agreed based on business priorities, availability, and budget.

Responsibilities

Review the existing codebase, architecture, and deployment setup, identifying improvements to reliability, maintainability, and performance.

Develop and refine front-end and back-end features supporting user profiles, project requests, matching, messaging, and engagement workflows.

Support AI-enabled search and matching capabilities where they provide clear value.

Troubleshoot bugs and improve usability across the platform.

Maintain appropriate authentication, permissions, and data protection practices.

Provide realistic estimates and flag dependencies or issues early.

Test changes, document key decisions, and demonstrate completed work.

Collaborate with the founder and existing development support, as needed.

Qualifications

Demonstrated experience developing and deploying full-stack web applications.

Experience working with existing codebases and improving them incrementally.

Strong understanding of APIs, databases, authentication, and cloud deployment.

Ability to translate business requirements into practical technical solutions.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently within an agreed scope and budget.

Examples of relevant projects, with a clear explanation of your contribution.

Assets

Experience with B2B SaaS platforms, marketplaces, or multi-role applications.

Experience integrating AI models, semantic search, or vector databases such as Qdrant.

Familiarity with Firebase, Cloudflare, Docker, Stripe, and transactional email services.

Experience using AI-assisted development tools while reviewing and testing generated code.

Experience supporting early-stage startups.
