Founding Game Systems Engineer

We are an early-stage technology company building an ambitious new platform in football, combining collecting, gaming and social competition.

Our initial platform is substantially built and approaching launch. Our longer-term vision includes developing our own football engine, with advanced player simulations, tactical systems, real-time gameplay and competitive experiences.

The role

We're looking for an exceptional technical person to join our founding team and help shape the technology behind the platform, from its existing systems to future football gameplay and simulation.

This is a hands-on opportunity to take ownership, experiment with ambitious ideas and help build the foundations of a new football gaming experience.

You could work across:

Football simulation and game systems: player attributes, performance modelling, match logic, tactical behaviour and simulation.
Gameplay and competition: fantasy systems, player battles, multiplayer, matchmaking and real-time interactions.
Backend and infrastructure: APIs, databases, scalable services and the systems supporting the platform.
Future engine development: exploring the architecture and technology required to support more advanced football simulations and interactive gameplay.

What we're looking for

• Exceptional programming ability and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, databases or AWS is valuable.
• C++, game engines, simulations, physics, AI, multiplayer networking or real-time systems are particularly interesting.
• Strong curiosity, initiative and the ability to build independently.
• A portfolio of projects, games, GitHub repositories or other evidence of what you've built.

We're open to experienced engineers, graduates, students and independent developers. Demonstrated ability and ambition matter more than years of experience.

The opportunity

This is an early founding-team opportunity offering meaningful equity initially, with the intention of transitioning into a paid full-time position as the company progresses.

The exact role and responsibilities will evolve around the strengths of the person we find, with the potential to grow into a core technical leadership position as the company scales.
