About the job
SkyAccess is a real-time marketplace for empty-leg private charter flights. Operators list the repositioning flights they already fly, and travelers book the whole aircraft at one all-in price, typically well below full charter. We aggregate live inventory from hundreds of FAA Part 135 certified operators, and we are building the pricing, search and booking layer that makes that inventory actually buyable.
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to own a significant surface of the product.
The role
- Contract, full-time
- Rate per hour is dependent on experience
- Remote. United States or Latin America
- Meaningful overlap with US Pacific hours is required, which is why Latin America works well for us
What you will work on
You will take a product surface and own it end to end rather than picking tickets off a board. Which one depends on your strengths, and current areas include:
- Search and inventory. Matching live empty-leg supply to what a traveler actually wants, across routes, dates and aircraft, at a latency people will tolerate.
- Pricing. All-in prices assembled from operator rates, repositioning economics, fuel and fees, with the margin logic and the guardrails that stop a bad number reaching a customer.
- Operator integrations. Ingesting fleet and availability data from operators and third-party feeds that disagree with each other, and deciding what is true.
- Booking and payments. The path from a selected flight to a confirmed, paid trip.
What we are looking for
- 5+ years building and shipping production software, with real ownership of something
- Strong TypeScript, and depth in React and Next.js on the front end or Node and Express on the back end. Both is better than either.
- Comfortable in a relational database. You can reason about a query plan, not just write the query.
- You have operated what you built: debugged it in production, watched it under load, and fixed it
- Able to make an architecture decision, write down why, and defend it without being precious about it
- You review other people's code carefully and kindly
Useful, not required: monorepos (we use Turborepo), TanStack Query, Prisma, Vercel, marketplace or travel-industry experience, working with messy third-party data feeds.
How we work
- Small team, short path from decision to production
- You will talk directly to the people who own the business problem, not through a layer
- We care about whether it works in production, not whether it looked right in review
- Written over synchronous where we can, because we are spread across time zones
To apply
Send a CV and a short note to [email protected]. Tell us about one thing you built and operated, what broke, and what you did about it. That answer tells us more than a list of technologies.
We read every application.
